Our approach

We only use assets that are public domain (CC0), open-licensed for commercial use, or made by us. Every file in every game is recorded with its licence and source, and the full list is public on our credits page. We do not use brand names, logos or artwork belonging to other companies.

Even so, mistakes can happen, for example if a source mislabelled its licence. If you believe your work appears on DiceGem without permission, we want to know and will act quickly.

Sending a notice

Email [email protected] with:

  1. your name and contact details (postal address, phone or email),
  2. a description of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed,
  3. the page address or game where the material appears (and, if you can, which file or screen),
  4. a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law,
  5. a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf,
  6. your physical or electronic signature.

These elements match the requirements of the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3)); notices under the EU Digital Services Act or other laws are equally welcome.

What happens next

We acknowledge notices promptly, review them, and remove or replace the material while we investigate where the claim appears valid. If we used a file in good faith from a source that listed it under a free licence, we will tell you the source so you can follow up with it too.

Counter-notices

If material you provided to us was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same address with your contact details, the material and its former location, a statement under penalty of perjury that it was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court.

Our games, code and text are protected by copyright. You may link to any page and quote short extracts of our guides with a link back. For anything else, see our terms of service or write to us.
