Open data
The figures on our fairness page and our game catalogue are published as plain files that anyone can download, analyse and reuse. They are regenerated from the games' source on every release, so they always describe the games that are live.
Datasets
| File | Format | Contents |
|---|---|---|
/data/returns.csv | CSV | Return to player and house edge, one row per bet (498 rows from 260 games). |
/api/returns.json | JSON | The same returns grouped by game, including games without a single fixed return (260 games). |
/api/games.json | JSON | The full game catalogue: title, category, version, players and addresses (424 games). |
Fields in the returns dataset
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
game_slug | Stable identifier of the game; also its address /games/<slug>/. |
game_title | Display name of the game. |
game_url | Page of the game on dicegem.com, with its rules. |
game_version | Version of the game the figure was computed for. |
bet | Bet or group of bets with the same return, as named in the game. |
rtp | Average return per credit staked, rounded to 6 decimals (1 = even game). Stake conventions for raise and fee games are explained on the fairness page. |
house_edge | 1 minus rtp, rounded to 6 decimals; negative when a bet returns more than 100% with optimal play. |
basis | exact: every outcome counted with its probability and payout. optimal-strategy: exact, assuming the best decision every time. |
In the JSON version each game also carries variable: player-vs-player for poker
tables where players compete against each other and the house takes no share, or
player-decisions when the main game's return depends on how you play, or prize-pool
when prizes are paid from a pot of a fixed share (pool) of all card sales, or
no-exact-figure when chained features make an exact calculation impossible. Such games list only
the bets with a fixed return, or none.
How the figures are produced
Every value is declared in the game's source code and recomputed from its rules by the game's test suite; a game whose declaration differs from its rules cannot be released. No figure is estimated by simulation or copied from published tables. Our methodology explains the testing in detail.
