Five Letters is a daily word puzzle: one hidden five-letter word, six guesses, and color feedback after every try. Play the daily word once a day, or switch to practice for as many random words as you like. The game speaks English and Turkish; the Turkish version uses a 29-letter keyboard and Turkish words.
How to play
Guessing. Type any valid five-letter word and press Enter. Each letter is then colored: green means the letter is in the word and in the right place, yellow means it is in the word but somewhere else, gray means it is not in the word at all.
Repeated letters. A letter in your guess is only matched as many times as it appears in the answer. If the answer has one E and you guess a word with two, only one of them can be green or yellow; the other turns gray.
Daily and practice. The daily word is the same for everyone on the same day (the day changes at midnight UTC) and you get one attempt at it. Practice mode picks a random word from the same pool and lets you start a new one whenever you want.
Hint. Once per word you can watch a short rewarded ad to reveal one correct letter in its position. The letter appears as a dashed suggestion in the current row.
Stats. Games played, win rate, and a histogram of how many guesses your wins took, kept separately for each language. The streak counts consecutive days with a solved daily word; practice games do not affect it, and abandoning a practice word after a guess counts as a loss. After a game you can copy an emoji grid of your result to share.
Strategy
- Open with a word full of common, distinct letters. Vowels plus R, S, T, L and N cover a lot of ground.
- Use the second guess to test new letters rather than repeating known ones, unless you already have most of the word.
- Yellow letters must move: do not put them back in the same column.
- Watch out for families of similar words (“light”, “might”, “night”). If the last two letters are fixed and several words fit, spend one guess on a word that contains as many of the candidate first letters as possible.
- The answer pool only contains common words, so a rare word that fits is less likely than a familiar one.
