Sixteen letters in a four-by-four grid. Trace words through neighbouring cells, as many as you can find before the three-minute timer runs out, or switch the timer off and hunt at your own pace. A new grid every day, random grids for practice, in English or Turkish.
How to play
Making a word. Drag your finger or the mouse across letters that touch each other, sideways, up and down or diagonally. Release to submit. You can also tap letters one by one and press Enter, or simply type the word on a keyboard. A cell may be used only once in the same word.
Valid words. At least three letters, and in the game’s list of common words. Rare words, names and abbreviations are not accepted.
Scoring. Three- and four-letter words score 1 point, five letters 2, six letters 3, seven letters 5, and anything longer 11. The score bar shows your points against the total available in the grid.
Timer. The default round is 3 minutes. Turn the timer off in the toolbar if you prefer to search without pressure; the round then ends when you press Finish or when every word is found.
Daily and practice. The daily grid is the same for everyone on the same day (midnight UTC). Practice grids are random and can be replaced at any time with New grid.
Results. When the round ends you see every word you missed, longest first. Collecting at least half of the available points counts as a win.
Strategy
- Start with the longest word you can see, then peel shorter words out of it: a six-letter word usually hides several three- and four-letter ones on the same path.
- Look for common endings that sit next to each other: -ING, -ED, -ER, -LY in English; -LER, -LIK, -CI in Turkish.
- Walk the grid systematically. Start from each corner and trace outward so you do not keep revisiting the same cluster.
- Diagonals count. Many missed words use a diagonal step that is easy to overlook.
- When the timer is on, do not agonise over a doubtful word: submit it, and move on if it is rejected.
