How to play
Pachinko Rush is a vertical pinball board from the Japanese arcade tradition. You launch steel balls up the brass rail; they fall through a forest of pins and windmills and end in a pocket or the out hole at the bottom.
- Set the power. A weak shot drops the ball early on the left side, a middle shot releases it at the top, and a strong shot carries it to the right side.
- Choose your bet per ball: 1, 2, 5 or 10 credits.
- Press Launch for one ball, or Auto to keep firing about one and a half balls per second. You can have several balls on the board at once.
Pockets (balls back × your bet per ball):
| Balls back | |
|---|---|
| Out hole | 0 |
| Side pockets | 5 |
| Tulip (bottom center) | 10 |
| START (under the screen) | 3, and the digital reels spin |
The digital reels. Each ball in the START pocket spins three reels showing 1 to 9. They stop left, right, then middle. When the left and right match, you’ll see REACH! and the middle reel keeps spinning a little longer. Three of a kind is a jackpot of 150 balls, and 7-7-7 is the super jackpot of 400 balls. If more balls reach START while the reels are busy, their spins wait their turn (the lamps on top of the screen).
Strategy
The power you choose is the one real decision, and it matters. Each shot has fixed chances of reaching each pocket:
| Shot | START | Side | Tulip | Out | Return |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weak | 5% | 10% | 1% | 84% | 85.97% |
| Middle | 9% | 6% | 2% | 83% | 96.75% |
| Strong | 7% | 5% | 3% | 85% | 91.36% |
The returns are calculated exactly. A reel spin is worth 1,600 ÷ 729 ≈ 2.19 balls on average (8 jackpot combinations at 150 and one 7-7-7 at 400, out of 729), so a START ball is worth about 5.19 balls in all.
- Keep the power in the middle zone. It sends the most balls to START and returns 96.75%. The weak shot returns about 11 points less.
- The jackpot odds are 1 in 81 per spin. With a middle shot, that’s about one jackpot every 900 balls. REACH shows up on one spin in nine, and most of them miss.
- Your bet doesn’t change the odds, only the size of every win.
