How to play

A Jackpot Sit & Go is a fast No-Limit Hold’em tournament for three players with a prize that’s drawn before the first card. You play against two computer opponents with virtual credits.

  1. Buy in. Each tournament costs 100 credits. You start with 1,000 credits on your first visit; the top bar shows your balance.
  2. See the prize. When the tournament is set up, a multiplier is drawn and shown in the middle of the table: the winner takes 100 × the multiplier. Second and third place win nothing.
  3. Play it out. Everyone gets 500 chips and the blinds start at 10/20. They go up every 4 hands: 10/20, 15/30, 20/40, 30/60, 40/80, 50/100, 75/150, 100/200, 150/300 and 250/500. With so few chips, the tournament is quick: in our test runs with computer players, a player’s tournament lasted a median of 30 hands.
  4. Last one standing wins. A player who loses every chip is out. If you collect all the chips, the prize goes into your credits.

The multipliers. Each multiplier has a fixed chance:

MultiplierPrizeChance
×220072%
×330020%
×55006%
×101,0001.6%
×252,5000.3%
×10010,0000.08%
×1000100,0000.02%

On average the prize is 2.855 times the buy-in. All three players pay in, so the prize pays back 95.17% of the buy-ins; you come out ahead if you win more than 35% of your tournaments.

Each hand plays like Texas Hold’em: two cards each, five on the table, and you can fold, check, call, or bet and raise any amount up to all your chips. Eliminations work like in Hold’em Sit & Go, and with two players left the button posts the small blind.

The buy-in is taken when the tournament is set up, so leaving before the end doesn’t give it back. If you don’t have 100 credits for the next tournament, you can get 1,000 free credits. Your tournament and credits are saved between visits.

Strategy

Short stacks mean push or fold. You start with only 25 big blinds and the blinds rise every 4 hands. Below about 10 big blinds, go all-in before the flop or fold; calling small and folding later wastes chips you need.

Attack the blinds three-handed. With only three players, you’re in the blinds two hands out of three. Raise often from the button, especially when the players in the blinds are labeled Tight.

Heads-up, play wide. Once one player is out, any ace, any pair and most two high cards are worth an all-in when the blinds are high.

Don’t change your play for the prize. The multiplier changes how much you win, not how to play. Chips are worth the same in a ×2 tournament as in a ×100 one.

Pick your opponents. At the end of a tournament you can choose Easy, Normal or Hard opponents for the next one. Easy opponents call too much and rarely bluff.

Return to player

Prizes come from a pot of 95.17% of all card sales, shared between the winning cards. Your shares are rounded down to whole credits, so the long-run return is slightly below 95.17%.

Frequently asked questions

Are the credits real money?

No. Credits and chips are virtual and exist only in this game. They can't be bought, cashed out or exchanged for anything.

Is the multiplier fixed when the tournament starts?

Yes. It's drawn once, when the tournament is set up, and shown before the first hand. It never changes during the tournament.

What happens if I leave early?

You finish last among the players still in and the buy-in is gone. The next tournament costs another 100 credits.

Do the computer players see my cards?

No. They only know what you'd know in their seat: their own two cards, the community cards and the bets.

Which keys can I use?

F folds, C checks or calls, R bets or raises the amount on the slider, and N or Enter deals the next hand.
