How to play
The Money Wheel, often called Big Six, is the tall upright wheel you see near the entrance of many casinos. It’s split into 54 equal segments, each showing a symbol, and a pointer at the top marks the winner. Your job is to guess which symbol ends up under the pointer.
- Choose a chip from the tray: 10, 50, 100 or 500.
- Tap a symbol on the betting board to place it there. The board has seven spots: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, Joker (★) and Logo (◆). You can cover several symbols in the same spin and stack more chips on any of them.
- Press Spin. The wheel turns, slows and settles on one segment.
- Bets on that symbol are paid; the rest are taken.
Undo lifts the last chip you placed, Clear removes everything, and Rebet copies your previous spin’s bets back onto the board. A row of recent results, newest first, sits by the wheel.
Each spot takes 10 to 1,000 credits in steps of 10. The total on the board can’t go above 5,000 per spin.
The wheel and the payouts
A symbol’s number is its payout: a winning bet on 5 pays 5 to 1, so 20 credits come back as 120. Joker and Logo are the two special segments, and each pays 45 to 1. They are separate bets; money on the Joker doesn’t win when the Logo comes up.
| Symbol | Segments | Chance per spin | Pays |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 24 | 44.4% | 1 to 1 |
| 2 | 15 | 27.8% | 2 to 1 |
| 5 | 7 | 13.0% | 5 to 1 |
| 10 | 4 | 7.4% | 10 to 1 |
| 20 | 2 | 3.7% | 20 to 1 |
| Joker | 1 | 1.9% | 45 to 1 |
| Logo | 1 | 1.9% | 45 to 1 |
The high-value segments are spread around the wheel rather than bunched together, and the Joker and Logo sit directly opposite each other. That layout is cosmetic: every one of the 54 segments has the same 1-in-54 chance on every spin.
The house edge, bet by bet
Because the payouts don’t line up neatly with the segment counts, each symbol carries its own edge. Take the 1: it wins 24 times in 54 and returns 2 credits each time, so 54 credits staked bring back 48 on average. That’s an edge of 6 in 54, or 11.11%. The same arithmetic gives the rest:
| Bet | Return per 54 staked | House edge |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 48 | 11.11% |
| Joker or Logo | 46 | 14.81% |
| 2 | 45 | 16.67% |
| 10 | 44 | 18.52% |
| 5 | 42 | 22.22% |
| 20 | 42 | 22.22% |
These are exact figures from the wheel in this game. Note the order: it isn’t “the bigger the payout, the worse the bet”. The 5, which feels like a sensible middle choice, is tied for the worst spot on the board.
Strategy
Nothing you do changes the edge on a single bet, and nothing carries over between spins. You can, however, avoid giving away more than you need to.
- Lean on the 1 if you want the longest session. It has the lowest edge on the wheel and wins almost half the spins.
- For a long shot, prefer Joker or Logo over the 20. They pay more than twice as much for half the segments, and their edge is lower.
- Skip the 5 and the 20 unless you just enjoy them. They lose 22 credits in every 100 on average.
- Covering many symbols at once only mixes their edges. A bet on every spot still loses on average; it just loses more slowly per spin and hides the drain.
- Ignore the recent results for prediction. A 20 that hasn’t shown for forty spins is no more likely on the next one.
For context, even the best bet here is far more expensive than a single-zero roulette wheel. European Roulette charges 2.70% on every bet. If you like the wheel but want something extra, Top Slot Wheel adds a multiplier reel above it.
