How to play
Mystery Lamp runs on five reels and three rows with 20 paylines. Its palace theme brings a golden crown, a ruby, a crescent moon and an emerald star, plus the usual card ranks from A down to 10. Mixed in with them are the magic lamps, which don’t stay lamps for long.
Choose a Coin of 1, 2, 5, 10 or 20, then press Spin. The coin is your bet per line and you always play all 20 lines, so one spin costs coin × 20. Line wins start on reel 1 and run to the right. Open Pay table to see every amount at the current coin. When free spins are won, the button reads Free spin and the coin stays fixed until they’re gone.
You begin with 1,000 virtual credits. Run dry and the game offers 1,000 more at no cost.
How the lamps transform
Each reel strip carries six lamps, spread out rather than stacked, so you’ll see at most one lamp per reel on a given spin and usually one or two across the whole screen. About a third of the time any single reel shows one.
The moment the reels stop, the game reveals what the lamps were hiding. All of them turn into one symbol, picked at random from nine: the crown, the ruby, the moon, the star, or A, K, Q, J or 10. Each of the nine has the same 1-in-9 chance. Lamps never become a wild or a free spins medallion.
Why does this matter? Because the reveal is shared. Suppose reels 1 and 3 have a ruby on the middle row and reel 2 has a lamp there. If the lamps turn ruby, that line pays three rubies. If they turn into the moon, the same lamp now sits on whatever moon lines it touches instead. With three or four lamps across the reels, one lucky reveal can light up several lines at once, while an unlucky one leaves every lamp useless.
The message bar under the reels tells you what the lamps became, for example “3 mystery symbols became Ruby.”
Free spins
The free spins medallion is the scatter. It counts once per reel and pays from anywhere: three give 2× the total bet and 8 free spins, four give 10× and 12 spins, five give 50× and 16 spins. Lamps keep transforming during free spins exactly as they do on paid spins, and more medallions add to the spins left.
Pay table
Wins are paid in coins, so multiply by your line bet.
| Symbol | 3 | 4 | 5 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wild | 67 | 335 | 1,340 |
| Golden crown | 40 | 168 | 670 |
| Ruby | 34 | 134 | 402 |
| Crescent moon | 27 | 101 | 268 |
| Emerald star | 20 | 67 | 201 |
| A | 13 | 40 | 134 |
| K | 13 | 34 | 101 |
| Q | 7 | 27 | 80 |
| J | 7 | 20 | 67 |
| 10 | 7 | 20 | 54 |
The wild covers for any symbol except the medallion, and also for a lamp after it turns, since by then the lamp is an ordinary symbol. Because the lamp draw is equally likely to land on the crown or on the 10, lamps are worth more on screens where the high symbols are already lined up.
The return
The return is 96.96%. It’s calculated exactly from the reels and the pay table, counting every reel position, every lamp reveal and the free spins, not estimated by simulation. Some kind of win lands on roughly 39% of spins; that hit rate is a measured, approximate figure. The return is a long-run average, and a short session can end well above or well below it.
Strategy
The lamp symbol is drawn at random after the reels stop, and nothing you do beforehand influences it. Neither the coin nor the timing of your tap matters, and no spin is “due” a crown reveal.
What is worth knowing:
- Lamps are a fork in the road, not a bonus. On most spins they turn into something that doesn’t match its neighbours, and you’ll see plenty of near misses. That’s expected.
- Small coins stretch 1,000 credits much further. At coin 1 a spin costs 20, giving about 50 spins before any wins; at coin 5 the same balance covers only 10.
- If you’d like a game where the special symbol is chosen once for a whole free spins round, try Temple Tome, where a single symbol expands for the full feature.
